Bio

My mission is to nurture the artist in every student.

I have been playing guitar for fifteen years, and writing songs for almost as long.  

My siblings and I all started learning instruments at the same time, and we began jamming with each other and making up songs before we even knew what we were doing.  Joy in music came first; we were free to explore!

I have since recorded two solo albums and an album with my wife as “The Lazy Sundays.”

​

I am also a trained actor and singer, so I understand performance, and how mind and body can help or hinder our intentions.  I have also appeared on stage with Winnipeg Studio Theatre in their production of FAME: The Musical.

As a teacher I strive to instill a love of music in my students and to guide them towards the understanding and self discipline required to teach themselves. 

Teaching Info

I believe the job of any teacher is to make themselves obsolete.  My goal is to give you the skills and knowledge required to teach yourself.

Therefore I put a strong emphasis on developing musicality that goes far beyond standard music theory, including under emphasized musical elements such as: dynamics, groove, rhythm, tone, listening, etc… to help you improve your playing without losing your unique voice.
