Bio

Kristian Braathen teaches all styles of drum set from his home studio in West Vancouver.  In 2003, Kristian graduated from the Jazz Studies program at Capilano University, where he earning a Bachelors of Music Degree.  After graduating from university, Kristian also had private study intensives with Grammy award winning drummers, Jeff Hamilton (Oscar Peterson, Diana Krall), Kenny Washington (Bill Charlap, Tony Bennett) and Carl Allen (Freddie Hubbard, Juilliard School of Music, NYC).  From 1998-1999, He worked as a musician on cruise ships Tahiti, Mexico and the Western Caribbean. Kristian also toured with Blues Artist Russell Jackson (former bassist with BB King) across Canada and the US.   Currently, Kristian maintains a busy schedule recording, teaching and performing in the Lower Mainland and beyond. Over the past 25 years, Kristian has performed in all genres of music, including: Rock, Pop, Blues, Country, Funk, Show Band (reading), Musical Theatre (reading), Jazz, and World Music.

Kristian Braathen teaches all styles of drum set from his studio in North Vancouver or online on Zoom. Since earning a Bachelors Degree in Music from Capilano University in 2003, Kristian maintains a busy teaching and performing schedule in the Lower Mainland and beyond. Over the past two decades, Kristian has performed in all genres of music, including: Rock, Pop, Blues, Country, Funk, Show Band (reading), Musical Theatre (reading), Jazz, and World Music.
