Groove Academy School of Music, (originally In The Pocket Drum Studio, aka ITP Drum Studio), started its journey in 2001. Owner Anthony Giancola, began his teaching career though various private music schools in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
“We saw a need for something more in the drum and percussion community: We envisioned a place where students would be offered superior drum and percussion education, where students would have access to every imaginable percussion instrument—from drum set, to orchestral percussion, to hand drums. We also wanted to provide our students with an abundance of performance opportunities, having them gain stage experience and utilizing their abilities and musical knowledge they have learned.”
The school became a place where drummers and percussionists were offered multiple performance opportunities, fulfilling the goal of a program specialized on drumming and percussion.
Now as Groove Academy – School of Music, we have extended this experience by now offering you piano, guitar, bass guitar, voice, violin and woodwind lessons. We will continue to offer you the highest standard of music education possible, helping you to get to that next level.
Groove Academy provides you with the latest in music literature and teaching aids and techniques. This includes audio, visual aid, newest in musical equipment, choice vintage gear, recording software and hardware. We stay on top of “who’s who” in our community, and around the world. Along with our students, we attend and host clinics, conventions, and workshops locally and all over North America, which enables us to offer our you, our students, the very best in music education.
