Bio
Recognized for her talents as a performer and composer, Marie-Andrée Ostiguy garnered a fourth nomination at the ADISQ Gala 2008 in the category Album of the year – instrumental, for her recent album of original compositions “Rêverie.” In March of the same year, the Québec Council of Arts and Literature awarded Marie-Andrée Ostiguy the Prix à la création artistique en Montérégie. This distinction emphasizes the rigueur of her work, her artistic integrity as well as her incontestable contribution to the cultural vitality of her region and recognizes that her public development activities in Québec, Canada and the U.S. contribute widely to the democratisation and broader appreciation of classical music.
Having attended the prestigious institutions of the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal, the Juilliard School of Music in New York, Indiana University, the Banff School of Fine Arts and the Université de Montréal, Marie-Andrée has also had the opportunity to further her musicianship with the renowned masters André Laplante, Gyorgy Sebok, Shigeo Neriki, Jacinthe Couture and Henri Brassard.

Affiliated with the Vincent-d’Indy School of Music and a member of the Music Academy of Québec and the Québec Music Teachers’ Association, Marie-Andrée Ostiguy has been teaching piano since the age of fifteen. She has shared her passion for music to numerous students throughout Québec, Canada and the United States.
Her teaching studio is located in Beloeil, on the South-Shore of Montréal.
Her numerous students come from far and wide, from Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, Saint-Basile-le-Grand, McMasterville, Mont-Saint-Hilaire, Otterburn Park, Saint-Mathias-sur-Richelieu, Saint-Marc-sur-Richelieu, Saint-Charles-sur-Richelieu, La Présentation, Sainte-Madeleine, Saint-Hyacinthe, Saint-Jean-Baptiste, Saint-Mathieu-de-Beloeil, Sainte-Julie, Boucherville, Chambly, Carignan, Candiac, La Prairie, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Saint-Lambert, Brossard, Saint-Hubert, Greenfield Park and even Longueuil.
In addition to the necessary elements required to the progressive mastery of piano playing and related theory subjects, Marie-Andrée Ostiguy’s mission as a teacher is to give to her students of all ages and levels a taste for culture and beauty, a critical sense and the will to face challenges with never loosing sight that one « plays » piano!
Marie-Andrée offers a structured rational teaching method, that she adapts to each student’s needs and learning abilities.
The piano lesson is usually scheduled on a weekly basis. The duration of the lessons is variable depending on the age and level of the student.
Marie-Andrée Ostiguy’s piano class presents one concert per year at her teaching studio, just before the end of the school year in June.
