Edmonton and area’s only music community exclusively providing piano lessons following the Suzuki Method.

The Edmonton Suzuki Piano School provides piano lessons to children throughout Edmonton and surrounding communities. Using the Suzuki Method, we seek to create a learning community which embraces excellence and nurtures the human spirit.  As a school dedicated exclusively to teaching piano to children using the Suzuki Method, we accept students aged 3-19 at all experience levels.  Every Child Can!  We welcome students of all abilities and learning differences. Our core focus is to create a music community centred around the student, parent and teacher, our Suzuki Triangle. With locations to serve families in Edmonton and surrounding communities, we offer convenient studio options no matter where you live. Edmonton Suzuki Piano school’s teachers are professional musicians and music educators. While they all provide the same high-quality program, they will each vary in their personality and teaching style. Each family can choose a teacher that is a great fit for them. Edmonton Suzuki Piano is a registered non-profit society and charity. Our registration and tuition fees cover far more than individual lessons – families also benefit from group programming, performances and extra learning opportunities.

At Edmonton Suzuki Piano School, each student will participate in individual lessons with their teacher and regular group lessons with a teacher and a small group of peers.

Individual Lessons

Individual lessons begin and end with a bow between the student and teacher. This formally marks the time spent with the teacher and is a sign of respect to both student and teacher. Families signal their daily practice at home in this way, too, with parent and student bowing at the beginning and end.

Suzuki students learn the notes of a piece at home, with their parent’s help. During the individual lesson, teachers will go over tricky aspects of playing and finer details. Parents will observe the teacher closely, taking detailed notes about particular practice points. These notes serve as a guide in the daily practice time at home.
