Teaching Info

The guitar course offered covers a wide variety of musical styles, such as blues, rock, pop and jazz. Whether students are learning to play as a beginner, wanting to acquire a certain level of technical skills, or want to just have fun, the lessons are structured to meet their needs. As each student needs a different approach, I know how to adapt the method from one student to another.

Techniques:

You will learn scales, chords, the structure of the Blues, Jazz and popular music. You will learn how to improvise over a song or back track. I will also teach you the mechanics of the guitar fretboard: how it works and how to use the guitar to play the music you want.

I use a variety of books carefully selected to meet the needs of the students. I also use adaptations of current popular music to help students learn their favorite songs!
