Meet Fiona: Passionate Teacher, Leader, and Community Builder
With over 30 years of experience teaching piano, Fiona has built a vibrant music studio in Kitchener, offering lessons to students of all ages and skill levels. Her journey started with a passion for making music accessible and enjoyable for everyone, and today, this vision has blossomed into a thriving community-focused studio. Over the past 25 years, Fiona’s studio has grown from a solo operation to a supportive team of 12 talented teachers and staff dedicated to fostering a love of music.
Fiona holds a Licentiate in Piano (Performers) from Trinity College of Music, London, and is a certified Music for Young Children (MYC) Instructor, with 20 years of experience guiding young musicians through the MYC program. As a Registered Music Teacher and member of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers Association (KW-ORMTA), Fiona believes in staying connected with other educators and continually evolving her teaching approach.
Noteworthy Music studio is more than just a place to learn music—it’s a community where students, teachers, and families come together to celebrate music, support each other, and make lasting connections. Through her work, Fiona emphasizes a welcoming environment where each student is encouraged to explore their unique talents, whether through exams, festivals, recitals, or simply for the joy of learning. From group performances and interactive recitals to collaborative projects, Fiona believes that music is best enjoyed as a shared experience, building confidence, friendships, and a sense of belonging.
Her students thrive in this positive, energetic atmosphere, feeling empowered to reach new heights in their musical journeys.
Beyond her studio, Fiona has served as a school music teacher and also as music director at Blessed Sacrament Church in Kitchener and is an active member of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) and the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers’ Association (CFMTA).
Fiona’s Mission: To make learning an instrument fun and accessible while building a community where students feel valued, inspired, and encouraged to pursue their musical dreams.
