Bio
I have been playing music most of my life and have been a professional guitar teacher in Toronto for over 20 years. Playing guitar and teaching music is a true passion of mine and I take great pride in my work. As much as I love performing, I truly do enjoy the process of teaching, sensing the joy of discovery in my students and providing them with the musical skills and tools necessary for them to accomplish their goals. My students come from all walks of life; from young children picking up their first guitar, hobbyists and adult beginners, students preparing for RCM exams and university auditions, as well as active professional guitarists. My guitar students have included successful professional musicians like Jesse Cook, Adrian Eccleston, Alex Goodman, James Robertson, Ray Montford, Randall Johnson Chung, John Nixon and Rob Hetherington to name a few – as well many students who simply enjoy guitar as a hobby, as a kind of therapy or as a form of self-discovery.
I approach teaching with patience and care and provide a supportive environment where students can learn at their own pace. I provide guitar lessons for children as young as six as well as adults in their retirement years. Please check out my testimonials page! I am confident that I can help anyone interested in learning to play any style of guitar, from Classical and Jazz to Blues, Rock, Pop, and Bossa Nova. I teach ear training, theory, sight reading, repertoire and improvisation and can help students develop their composition skills.
My teaching studio is conveniently located near Bloor and Spadina in the Annex. If you would like more information, please feel free to call me at 416 927 1697 or via email robcampbellguitar@gmail.com to inquire further about my approach to guitar lessons and to arrange a free interview or trial lesson.
